Horst's LEGO Auction I: Rules
- All bids must be made by email, as threaded replies to the announcement posting in rec.toys.lego, to the email address given in the Reply-To header (Horst_Lehner@myhymer.com). (Everything else is likely to be missed by me, as postings to RTL tend to expire before I get a chance to read them, and I might have a lot of responses to take track of.)
- All bids are final, and must be made in, or will be converted to, US$, even though I am located in Germany. Shipping cost will be added at german postal service rates, converted to US$.
- Won items will have to be paid before shipping. As I expect lots of international bids, I am open to various ways of getting the money to me, some of which may cause fees not only on the buyer's side, but also on my side. The buyer agrees to cover all such fees.
- The status of each item (or group, see below) will be advanced in the following sequence, whenever no new bid for it has been received for about three days:
- open --> going1 --> going2 --> sold
After the auction for a certain item or group has advanced to "sold", the winner(s) and I will try to go through the following sequence as quickly as possible:
- paid --> shipped --> received
- I will post status updates
- to RTL, as threaded replies to the announcement posting in rec.toys.lego, about once a week
- more often to bidders, at least, when items a bidder has the winning bid on changed status, to this bidder
You may also want to check my auction page, which will be updated upon each posting to RTL at least.
- Whenever there is more than one item of a certain kind available, these items are sold as a group, in a French Auction. This means:
- You can bid on any number of items in the group, up to the available number of items, specifying your bid per item (not for all items you are bidding for together)
- The items will not be advanced individually, but as a group
- When the group has advanced to "sold", the minimum winning bid defines the price for all winning bidders.
- When more than the number of available items in the group could be sold at this price, I may try to find these items. If I fail (which is likely, given the historical age, and quality of the items being offered), larger lots and earlier bids win, in this precedence.
- That means, to outbid someone else, you must either bid more than he does, or on a larger quantity.
- I reserve the right to
- add rules to the auction as appropriate and necessary to conduct it in an orderly and convenient fashion.
- remove or add items to the auction at any time before they have advanced to "sold", so I don't have to specify minimum bids. Bids below my minimum price will therefore get the status "hold" assigned. Also I can still trade parts, if someone makes an offer which seems more appealing to me than money ...
